Several minutes later, after traveling down many long and dark alleyways, they emerged in front of a small, slightly run down building that was in dire need of a fresh coat of paint, as well as some other repairs. There was a sign hanging above the door with faded writing on it which read "Ye Olde Supply Shop".
"What's this place?" Eimi asked as she stared at the building before
them.
"This is where we are going to get the supplies we need," Galaxar
replied.
"This place looks rather shabby. Are you sure this is a good place to
shop?" She asked with a doubtful look on her face as she examined the
building more closely. She noticed a shutter slowly swinging in the wind,
which only partly attached and looked like it was in danger of falling
off.
"I don't normally do my shopping here," he began, "but the patrons of
this shop aren't known to be the most reputable of people, so I know the
shop keep will be discreet if a certain knight decides to question him
about our whereabouts."
Galaxar stopped talking for a moment as he began to make a mental list of
everything they might need for their stay in the woods. Upon doing so, he
realized that shopping in his current form would be rather impossible
because not only would be much too odd for a small dragon to go shopping,
but it would also be quite difficult for him to hold all the items they
would need in his tiny claws. 'I'm going to need to get this collar
removed,' he thought to himself. 'This gives me an idea.'
"However, before I go in, I'm going to need you to take this collar off
of me," he said as he spoke up again.
"No," Eimi stated as she shook her head.
"But I can't do any shopping in this form," he explained hoping she
couldn't deny the truth.
"No," she repeated.
"I'm not going to run off," he said. "I'm just going in there to go
shopping and then coming right back."
"No," she replied again.
"You are being unreasonable," Galaxar told her.
"No," she replied again.
'It was worth a shot,' Galaxar thought to himself realizing he was
getting nowhere and continuing to stand here and argue with the cat girl
out in the open would only increase their odds of being found by
Excalibur and his band of dimwitted friends.
"Since you are unwilling to remove this thing," he said, "you are going
to have to go in and do the shopping for me. I have a coin purse
that..."
Eimi interrupted him. "You mean this," she said as she held up a small
leather bag.
"What?... How did you get that?" he asked as he saw her holding out his
coin purse.
"I took it back at the tavern when you were passed out," she told him. "I
didn't figure a pet would need such a thing."
"I'm not a pet," he replied. "Please return my belongings."
"But I need it to go shopping," Eimi responded as she walked into the
shop. The door closed behind her leaving him standing in the street
alone.
"I expect you to return that after you are done," he yelled after her. "I wonder what else she took from me," he said under his breath as he tried to remember what else he had on him during the incident in the tavern.
