Deep within the woods a cat girl wandered around aimlessly. She was obviously unfamiliar with the forest and quite lost. As she pushed on through the brush, a twig tore at her light blue dress exposing some of the soft tan fur that covered her body. She bent down to examine the damage and a strand of her long red hair fell into her eyes.
"Dang it, that was my favorite dress," she whined and pushed the hair out of her face, revealing a pair of pink eyes.
As she stood back up her stomach let out a growl. She quickly wrapped her arms around her middle. "So hungry..." she said and grabbed a handful of leaves off a nearby tree. She tossed the leaves into her mouth, hoping they would be edible like salad. After chewing on them for a few seconds, she quickly spit them out and tried to wipe the lingering taste off of her tongue with her paws. "Eww." Her stomach let out another rumble, so she decided she had no other choice than to continue on trekking through the forest in hopes of finding something edible to eat. However, before she could take a single step she saw something dart out of the trees. "Food," escaped her lips as she took off running after the small flying object.
Galaxar faintly heard someone cry out something that he couldn't quite make out. He turned around to see who was there, and to his surprise, he found a cat girl charging at him with a look in her eyes that he did not like.
"What the…!" he shouted and took off flying as fast as he could through the forest with the cat girl not far behind.
"Stop!" she shouted after him. "Come back here!"
Normally Galaxar would of been more than willing to help her because damsels in distress were hard to come by and rescuing them was one of his most favorite past times; however, at the moment there was only one thing this damsel was looking for and he was not particularly looking forward to becoming her next meal. Galaxar slowed down slightly as he glanced over his shoulder to see how much distance he had put between them. He didn't want to lose her entirely because he still had plans on helping her, but he needed to escape her long enough to allow him to duck into the bushes and change into his humanoid form.
"Ack!" he yelped as the cat girl's claw clipped his tail and nearly turned him into a dragon-kabob.
'She's fast, but let's see her keep up with me now,' he thought as he sped back up and began weaving around trees and diving over and under branches, hoping that this new tactic would allow him to lose her long enough to hide.
After a few moments, Galaxar slowed down and glanced over his shoulder, but once again the cat girl was still only inches from him. 'Quick and agile… and why wouldn't she be, ' he thought as he cursed his continuous bad luck. Galaxar was about to speed up again, but unfortunately his misfortune prevailed. As soon as he turned his head back forward, Galaxar slammed hard into a branch of a tree. The speed at which he struck the branch caused it to bend and a second later he was flying backwards towards the cat girl.
Her reflexes were as quick as her feet and she easily dodged him, but not before she got a good look at what she had been chasing. As quickly as he came into view, she had lost sight of him.
He soared past her and came to rest in the only bush around that had thorns. "Ouch," Galaxar squeaked as fell through the thorny branches and landed hard upon the ground.
"Dragon?" she called out.
Galaxar peered out between the leaves and saw the cat girl slowly making her way towards him. A second later the cat girl had pried apart the branches of the bush and was looking down upon him; however, a purple haired man laid on the ground instead of the small dragon she had been chasing.
"Dragon?" she asked.
"Uh… sorry no dragon here," Galaxar replied as he quickly climbed to his feet and dusted himself off before he began work on the leaves entangled in his hair.
"Oh," she sighed sounding rather disappointed.
"I am Galaxar, adventurer extraordinaire and rescuer of fair maidens," he introduced himself as he bowed slightly. "May I ask what you are doing in the forest?"
"Have you seen a dragon?" she asked as ignored his question and continued to search for her prey.
"No," he replied. "Are you lost?"
"Are you sure?" she asked.
"Yes, I'm quite sure," he told her. "Would you like me to show you the way out? I know this forest like the back of my hand." He stood tall as he thought about how this could be his chance to show everyone how valiant and noble he was.
"It was about this big, are you sure you haven't seen it?" she said as she held up her hands.
Galaxar's hopes were quickly shattered as the cat girl continued to pay no attention to him. He said nothing as he stared at her with disappointment and disbelief.
"I'm sure it landed around here," she told him as she climbed into the bush, being quite determined to find what she was looking for. She rustled around inside it for a few moments before her head popped back into view. "Phooey," she pouted and climbed back out.
"You wouldn't happen to have any food," she asked Galaxar and without waiting for a response she began to dig through his pockets.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" he yelled with a start.
"Looking for food," Eimi said as she stopped digging through Galaxar's clothes and looked up at him with a rather puzzled expression on her face.
"Why?""I can assure you that I have nothing eatable in my possession," he informed her.
She began to pout as she started to whine, "I'm so hungry."
Galaxar perked up slightly as a glimmer of hope to be gallant appeared. "Well I know of a place not to far from here with great food."
"Really!?" she said excitedly as she bounced up and down with joy.
"Follow me and I'll be more than happy to guide you," he said as he turned around and ran right into a tree.
"Are you ok?" Eimi asked as he slid to the ground.
"Perfectly," came a muffled reply.
